As you probably noticed, Amsterdam is a very international city. Very often you would address someone in Dutch, only to see them staring blankly at you, followed by the inevitable “Sorry, I don’t speak Dutch..” sentence. Well, Heren 4 is that someone within KVA! Our current team of 7 players include Polish, Chinese, Israeli, French and Persian players, reinforced with some Dutch – must have someone to argue with the referee, after all! Most of us discovered KVA by recommendations of older members, and then it took some friendly recommendations and some works from the coaches to finally shape this team, that started to compete in the second half of 2013/2014 season, in Heren 6 klasse B group. And looks like they did a good job too, because we just won the competition with 2 games remaining to the end of the season!

Zoals jullie allemaal wel is opgevallen is Amsterdam een hele internationale stad. Het gebeurt vaak genoeg dat je iemand aanspreekt en dat diegene alleen ‘I don’t speak Dutch’ weet te vertellen. Heren 4 is die persoon binnen KVA. Met onze 7 spelers hebben we een mix van Poolse, Chinese, Israelische, Franse en Perzische afkomst. Versterkt met wat Nederlands uiteraard – er moet toch iemand met de scheidsrechter kunnen ruziën! De meesten van ons hebben KVA ontdekt door aanbevelingen van andere leden, en met hulp van coaches en trainers is ons team gevormd. Begin dit jaar zijn we in de 6e klasse goed begonnen; met nog twee wedstrijden te gaan zijn we al verzekerd van het kampioenschap!
