- Rescheduling a game is meant to be a last option. Games will only be rescheduled when it is not possible to change plans to allow for attending the game anyway and it is not possible to solve your teams’ issues by asking for substitute players from other teams.
- If your team wants to reschedule a game, you must contact the Wedstrijdsecretariaat (wedstrijdsecretariaat@kvavolleybal.nl) with the following information:
- The date and time of the game you’d like to reschedule
- The number of people in your team that are available and not available for the time and date the game is set at
- The reasons why players who are not available are not available
- The effort you have already put into trying to solve the lack of players by trying to find substitutes
- Within the first 3 weeks of your team’s schedule being available, the Wedstrijdsecretariaat will be lenient regarding the reasons people may not be able to attend the game. After that period, rescheduling games is only allowed if your team can show that the reason that your team does not have enough players is urgent and outside of your team’s control and/or something that not have been known sooner (e.g. injuries, illnesses, emergencies). Regarding other plans made, the Wedstrijdsecretariaat will hold that it is the responsibility of the players in your team to set their priorities. If volleyball is not a priority for the players of your team, that does not make it the responsibility of the KVA Wedstrijdsecretariaat and the other team and their club’s Wedstrijdsecretariaat to prioritize rescheduling the game for you.
- If your team and the Wedstrijdsecretariaat agree that rescheduling the game is an appropriate solution for your team’s situation, you will work together with the Wedstrijdsecretariaat to find an open field that the game could be rescheduled to. At minimum, this field will have to be open on a day that is distant enough from other games in your match schedule and your opponent’s. The Wedstrijdsecretariaat will try to find an open field during a (home) game day or night, but sometimes these may not be available. In these cases, the only option may be to reschedule your game to a training night.
- When your team and the Wedstrijdsecretariaat have found an open field at a time, date, and place that suit your team, the Wedstrijdsecretariaat will contact the opposing team’s Wedstrijdsecretariaat to request the rescheduling of the game.
- It is up to your opponent and their Wedstrijdsecretariaat to determine whether they are willing to agree to rescheduling the game. No one is obligated to agree to rescheduling a game, the extent to which teams are generally willing to agree to rescheduling varies greatly from club to club and team to team. So, keep in mind that your opponent may not agree to rescheduling a game.
- If your opponent does agree to rescheduling a game, the responsibility for refereeing the rescheduled game will come to lay with K.V.A., as the requester of the rescheduling, even if the game was initially your opponent’s home game. The Wedstrijdsecretariaat will ask for your help in ensuring that a referee will be at the game. In some cases, it may still be possible to arrange a referee from the opposing club, in many cases it will have to be a referee from K.V.A.
